Hardik Pandya has unwittingly imparted some valuable lessons to today's youngsters who idolise him, when he crammed his foot in his mouth.
Hardik Pandya has unwittingly imparted some valuable lessons to today’s youngsters who idolise him, when he crammed his foot in his mouth.
At the outset I want to make it very clear that this write-up is not to condemn or support the show, the host, or Mr Pandya.
I do have an opinion about everything that was said on the show like most people, but I want to highlight the lessons I have learnt from the episode, and what I want my son to learn too. So here is a list.
~~ Why fit in when you were born to stand out? Hardik was clearly trying to fit in. He got carried away with the ‘format of the show’ (his own words).
~~ Education is not just books and degrees, the best education is to know how to behave and conduct yourself.
~~ Why you should never allow success go into your head.
~~ Why you should not become complacent. If you feel you have achieved everything than you get carried away.
~~ It’s very important to be humble about all your achievements.
~~ Discipline never goes out of fashion.
~~ Always remember your upbringing, your family, your teachers, and the lessons you learnt from them.
~~ Be a role model for people younger than you.
~~ Don’t live in a bubble like our young cricketer, the bubble will break.
I wish the younger generation who looks up to these cricketers learns from their mistakes. My heart really goes out to the family. They must be feeling so disgraceful.
And what about Mr. Johar? Why does he always get away? I wish he learns his lessons too and I wish it happens very soon.
Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth. I really feel sad for all the young kids who go on his show and speak utter nonsense just to conform. I hope all the young kids who watch the show understand that what is spoken is not what always.

UP Boards Topper Prachi Nigam was trolled on social media for her facial hair; our obsession with appearance is harsh on young minds.
Prachi Nigam’s photo has been doing the rounds on social media for the right reasons. Well, scratch that- I wish the above statement were true. This 15-year-old girl should ideally be revelling in her spectacular achievement of scoring a whopping 98.05% and topping her tenth-grade boards. But oddly enough, along with her marks, it’s something else that garners more attention – her facial hair.
While the trolls are driving themselves giddy by mocking this girl who hasn’t even completed her school yet, the ones who are taking her side are going one step ahead – they are sharing her photoshopped pictures, sans the facial hair, looking nothing less than a celebrity with captions saying – “Prachi Nigam, ten years later”.
Doctors have already diagnosed her with PCOD in their comments, based on photographic evidence. While we have names for people shamed for their weight – body shaming, for their skin colour- racism, for their age- age shaming, for being a female- sexism, this category of shaming where one faces criticism for their appearance has no name. With that, it also has zero shame attached to it.
