Setting the right goals & achieving them is important for #WomenOnTheMove in 2017. Read on to find out what else is important this year.

“The trouble with not having a goal is that you can spend your life running up and down the field and never score.” – Bill Copeland

Do you set goals for yourself? Where do you want to see yourself in 1 year’s time? Where do you want to see yourself in 5 years’ time?

Articulating a clear vision statement for your career is the first step of achieving career goals. Setting a right, achievable career goal not only helps in deciding where we want to be in our careers but also helps in measuring the progress made towards achieving that goal.

But why is goal setting so important? Well, all things are created twice, first in the mind and then physically. The mental creation happens when you have a plan; the physical implementation happens when you actively pursue to realize your goal. Without this mental plan moving forward would feel like a long, pointless grind.

Last week, we had our weekly #Womenonthemove chat over at Twitter, where we discussed the career goals for 2017 and how to achieve them. This is what they said.

(If you’re not yet following Women’s Web on Twitter, do now, and you can come over for the chat too, every Wednesday 6-7PM IST).

Should the goals for 2017 be drastically different from the previous year? Not really!
