For the road ahead may be, long and, winding. But it's important to keep on climbing. And when you reach the top, you'll see. That everything you need is already within thee.
Overthinkers, oh how they do
Worry and fret the whole day through
Every decision, every choice
Is an opportunity to lose their voice
Their thoughts go round and round
Until their feet are firmly on the ground
They analyse and scrutinize
Until they can no longer recognize
But know that you are not alone
Your thoughts will not always be set in stone
Take a breath and let it go
And trust that the answers will soon show
Life is not meant to be a test
And sometimes we need to take a rest
So let go of the worry and fear
And know that everything will soon be clear.
Remember that life is a journey, not a race
And sometimes we need to slow our pace
Take time to reflect and just be
And let your thoughts flow naturally
Overthinking can be a burden to bear
But it’s important to know that people care
So don’t be afraid to ask for help
And remember to take care of yourself
For the road ahead may be long and winding
But it’s important to keep on climbing
And when you reach the top, you’ll see
That everything you need is already within thee.

UP Boards Topper Prachi Nigam was trolled on social media for her facial hair; our obsession with appearance is harsh on young minds.
Prachi Nigam’s photo has been doing the rounds on social media for the right reasons. Well, scratch that- I wish the above statement were true. This 15-year-old girl should ideally be revelling in her spectacular achievement of scoring a whopping 98.05% and topping her tenth-grade boards. But oddly enough, along with her marks, it’s something else that garners more attention – her facial hair.
While the trolls are driving themselves giddy by mocking this girl who hasn’t even completed her school yet, the ones who are taking her side are going one step ahead – they are sharing her photoshopped pictures, sans the facial hair, looking nothing less than a celebrity with captions saying – “Prachi Nigam, ten years later”.
Doctors have already diagnosed her with PCOD in their comments, based on photographic evidence. While we have names for people shamed for their weight – body shaming, for their skin colour- racism, for their age- age shaming, for being a female- sexism, this category of shaming where one faces criticism for their appearance has no name. With that, it also has zero shame attached to it.
