Ashwini Asokan is helping touch billions of lives with her tryst with Artificial Intelligence. She tells us why we need to get tech savvy NOW!
The quote by Matt Mullenweg, ‘Technology is best when it brings together people’, highlights the pivotal role technology is playing to unite the people across the world. It is the greatest blessing of this century.
People residing even in the remotest parts of the world, are not shying away from using it as a tool to enhance the quality of their lives. The gamut of opportunities technology offers is the reason why so many entrepreneurs take the plunge in this field.
One such entrepreneur who envisions bringing Artificial Intelligence to a billion people is Ashwini Asokan, the co-founder of Mad Street Den.
Ashwini Asokan believes in the power of technology and aims at impacting the lives of billions of people. She leads a team of data scientists, fashion designers, product designers, neuroscientists and computer vision intelligence engineers who work in a highly collaborative environment to create an uber cool end user experience. Ashwini is one of those very few entrepreneurs who dared to experiment with artificial intelligence and emerged successful. An insatiable hunger to grow by taking up challenges everyday is her mantra of success.
A mother of two, Ashwini is an ardent believer of the fact that only a spurt in opportunities for women can elevate their status in the society. Inspired by women who work on startups and strike the right chord between professional and personal lives, she hopes to see more and more women coming up to prove their mettle in different fields.
Watch Ashwini Asokan’s video and acquaint yourself with the colossal impact technology can have on one’s life.

UP Boards Topper Prachi Nigam was trolled on social media for her facial hair; our obsession with appearance is harsh on young minds.
Prachi Nigam’s photo has been doing the rounds on social media for the right reasons. Well, scratch that- I wish the above statement were true. This 15-year-old girl should ideally be revelling in her spectacular achievement of scoring a whopping 98.05% and topping her tenth-grade boards. But oddly enough, along with her marks, it’s something else that garners more attention – her facial hair.
While the trolls are driving themselves giddy by mocking this girl who hasn’t even completed her school yet, the ones who are taking her side are going one step ahead – they are sharing her photoshopped pictures, sans the facial hair, looking nothing less than a celebrity with captions saying – “Prachi Nigam, ten years later”.
Doctors have already diagnosed her with PCOD in their comments, based on photographic evidence. While we have names for people shamed for their weight – body shaming, for their skin colour- racism, for their age- age shaming, for being a female- sexism, this category of shaming where one faces criticism for their appearance has no name. With that, it also has zero shame attached to it.
