INDU BALACHANDRAN was raised on an unhealthy diet of Mad Magazines since age 8-- leading to a lifelong love of humour writing. A 30 year career in Advertising took her from copy trainee to Executive Creative Director at J Walter Thompson. Her best-selling first book ‘Don’t Go Away, We’ll Be Right Back, The Oops and Downs of Advertising’ was in the Crossword Best-Seller list. Her latest Runaway Writers is winning international acclaim. (It is now being sold in UK and US markets as The Writers’ Retreat) Indu’s writings have appeared in New York Times, Lonely Planet, Sunday Hindu, Firstpost, and is currently a regular humour columnist/travel writer for Readers Digest and Deccan Herald. Her contributions feature in 5 anthologies of short stories.
