“Tomorrow is the first blank page of a 365 page book. Write a good one.” – Brad Paisley
Yes! You are the author of this book and you can write as you wish, but remember that this is your book; you will need to read it again sometime and therefore make sure it is a good one.
“Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.” – Carl Bard
All of us have regrets. Who doesn’t? Having said that, you cannot undo what you have done, but you can certainly start now and make sure to not make the same mistakes again.
“Don’t change because a new year is coming, but change for your personal growth. No matter what resolutions you make, they start with you.” – Unknown
Absolutely true! You don’t have to wait for the new year to make resolutions. Every day is a new beginning and every little change towards your personal growth is a step in the right direction.
“If you flee from the things you fear, there’s no resolution.” – Chuck Palahnuik
Fear is one’s worst enemy. How often have we shied away from making changes in our life, such as getting out of a bad marriage or standing up for what we think is right? Take the next step and make a difference in your life or in someone else’s life.
“Let all the failures of your past year be the best guide in the new year.” – Mehmet Murat Ildan
Someone once said “Failure is a stepping stone to success”. There is no better teacher than failures. Instead of wallowing in your failures, rise above them, learn from them and let them guide you in the new year.
“Just try new things. Don’t be afraid. Step out of your comfort zones and soar, all right?”
With some time available at the beginning of the new year, when everyone tends to be relaxed, is the best time to examine if you are getting far too deep into that comfort zone.
“A dream written down with a date becomes a goal. A goal broken down into steps becomes a plan. A plan backed by action makes your dream come true.” – Greg S. Reid
Yes, It is a no-brain-er. A dream is great, but it is not enough if you need to achieve something. You need to convert your dream to specific goals with specific dates and have a plan and act on those goals. This one is a gem and one of my favorites.
“Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.” – Dalai Lama
Our world is not monolithic but very diverse and a beautiful place. Travel to a new place you have never been before. Experience different cultures and in the process, learn about yourself. Be more tolerant, more forgiving, and accept others as they are.
“One resolution I have made, and try always to keep, is this — To rise above the little things.” – John Burroughs
You may not be on talking terms with your sister because of something that happened a while back which you don’t even remember clearly. Even if you do remember, do not be bogged down about the little things that hold you back personally or professionally. You need to just let them go. They are not worth your time and sometimes not worth losing your precious relationships either.
“Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson
I used to meet this person in the elevator every morning at work in my previous job. He always greeted everyone in the elevator with a huge smile. “How do you manage to be so upbeat every single day?”, I asked him one day. What he said next, remained with me forever. “I consider every single day as the best day of my life and there is no if’s or but’s about it”, he said with his trademark smile. His positive attitude was infectious and it rubbed on all of us who, he greeted in the elevator. I am sure we were all a bit more optimistic than we were before we entered the elevator and that is exactly the power of positive thinking!
“The bad news is time flies. The good news is you’re the pilot.” – Michael Altshuler
You are the only person that can control your life and your destiny. So make it count.
I hope you enjoyed these beautifully positive new year quotes. Finally, here is wishing all of you a happy and a healthy new year!

If her MIL had accepted her with some affection, wouldn't they have built a mutually happier relationship by now?
The incident took place ten years ago.
Smita could visit her mother only in summers when her daughter had school holidays. Her daughter also enjoyed meeting her Nani, and both of them had done their reservations for a week. A month before their visit, her husband told her, “My mom is coming for 4-5 months!”
Smita shuddered. She knew the repercussions. She would have to hear sarcastic comments from her mother-in-law for visiting her mother. She may make these comments directly only a bit, but her servants would be flooded with the words, “How horrible she is! She leaves me and goes!”
Maybe Animal is going to make Ranbir the superstar he yearns to be, but is this the kind of legacy his grandfather and granduncles would wish for?
I have no intention of watching Animal. I have heard it’s acting like a small baby screaming and yelling for attention. However, I read some interesting reviews which gave away the original, brilliant and awe-inspiring plot (was that sarcastic enough?), and I don’t really need to go watch it to have an informed opinion.
A little boy craves for his father’s love but doesn’t get it so uses it as an excuse to kill a whole bunch of people when he grows up. Poor paapa (baby) what else could he do?
I was wondering; if any woman director gets inspired by this movie and replicates this with a female protagonist, what would happen?. Oh wait, that’s the story of so many women in this world. Forget about not giving them love, you have fathers who try to kill their daughters or sell them off or do other equally despicable things.
