Even though it’s biting cold out there in many parts of the country, this is the season to rejoice! But, for many of us, what is fun Christmas without snow flakes anyway? Well, I know we do mock snow with cotton in most of the Indian Christmas trees since we do not have snowfall, but of course there are also scarves, candles, wine, and socks which are part of the celebrations, add to the festivities and also will help you keep warm!
My favourite part of Christmas is decorating the tree, and if you are a person like me who loves crafting, then I am sure that this must be your favourite activity too. During my childhood, my sister and I used to just hang a star on our verandah and be thrilled just to have that star.
Last week, when I went shopping, the market looked so joyful with Christmas décor and lights all around. The place was brimming with loads of Christmas ornaments that you could use for decorating your tree, be it the reindeer, mini santas, little gifts, stars, santa sticks, santa caps, santa socks, snow men or glitter balls! All these are available in miniature sizes too to adorn small-sized Christmas trees.
Though all that sounds exciting and saves a lot of time and gives variety to your Christmas trees in minutes, there are other excellent reasons to make these at home.
To get you started, here is a DIY video on how to make your own amusing Christmas ornaments. This video offers 5 such simple ideas which hardly take any time.
So go ahead and try them out and you will fall in love with the whole process. This is the season of giving and finding happiness in sharing and caring. Let’s spread the joy and warmth all around, Merry Christmas folks!

UP Boards Topper Prachi Nigam was trolled on social media for her facial hair; our obsession with appearance is harsh on young minds.
Prachi Nigam’s photo has been doing the rounds on social media for the right reasons. Well, scratch that- I wish the above statement were true. This 15-year-old girl should ideally be revelling in her spectacular achievement of scoring a whopping 98.05% and topping her tenth-grade boards. But oddly enough, along with her marks, it’s something else that garners more attention – her facial hair.
While the trolls are driving themselves giddy by mocking this girl who hasn’t even completed her school yet, the ones who are taking her side are going one step ahead – they are sharing her photoshopped pictures, sans the facial hair, looking nothing less than a celebrity with captions saying – “Prachi Nigam, ten years later”.
Doctors have already diagnosed her with PCOD in their comments, based on photographic evidence. While we have names for people shamed for their weight – body shaming, for their skin colour- racism, for their age- age shaming, for being a female- sexism, this category of shaming where one faces criticism for their appearance has no name. With that, it also has zero shame attached to it.
