After coming home, while having her snack, she told me one of the kids in her class told her that the bindi makes her look like an Indian. When I told her she is in fact an Indian, she told me without any hesitation that she is not an Indian now and is “Canada” (Canadian).

Crèche was a necessity in my life! Especially a workplace crèche, on joining work, all my fears came true; the babysitter was irregular, the pumped milk was insufficient, and many other unseeable emergencies kept popping up.

The struggle has been intense after the birth of my second child. Years of just feeding, changing and parenting took a toll. I was so into proving to the world that I can do it that I completely lost myself in the effort.
