No matter how educated or qualified a girl may become in India, it's always compared with her ability to support and confide in her husband and become a dedicated wife and mother, (even if she don't want to embrace motherhood).

Without this man, my career would not have looked the way it does now. But the thing is, the good things did not happen in a healthy space. He had a hidden agenda which took a huge toll of my energy and mental health.

This post is just to make victims of narcissistic abuse as children, feel no pressure to celebrate Mother's Day. It's ok to feel pained, sad, upset, angry, frustrated, all of the above on Mother's Day. 

As relationships become distant it is convenient to keep them so. Gradually you stop sharing small details which sound unimportant, and not worth sharing on the late night phone call after all work is done.

My orthodox mother in law didn't really care about my period pain, but she had a cold water head bath workaround to ensure I continued with house work!
