This beautiful green soup is filled with good nutrients and is easy recipe to make as a dinner meal accompaniment. Spinach is something that is easily available in the bazaars and the supermarkets.
So apart from the regular tomato soup do try out the spinach version which is likely to be a surefire hit during chill evenings.
Wash the spinach (palak) thoroughly in salt water. Strain it and kept it aside. In a pan pour oil, add onion and allow it to become a little translucent. Do not fry it too much. Add strained palak and stir fry it for a minute or so. Add salt while adding palak and allow the ingredients to cool. The spinach leaves should not be turned into black, so take care that you do not fry them too much.
Take the cooled ingredients of spinach and onion and then put in a blender. Add little water to make it to a smooth paste. You can strain the mixture and then add a bit of cream before serving it.

Here is a salad that can be easily made at home and with minimum cooking. The point however to note is that only salads cannot comprise a daily diet. It needs to be supplemented with other wholesome meals.
Grate the carrots and keep it aside. Then take the soaked moong dal (yellow one), strain it and the mix with carrot along with salt. Take a pan, add little oil (you can use sunflower oil or cooking coconut oil), add mustard seeds, chillies, urad dal, curry leaves and fry it for a less than a minute.
Do not allow the ingredients to turn black. When they splutter add the tadka to the carrot and moong dal that is there in the bowl. Add salt and you can use grated coconut. Finish the dish by adding a dash of lime juice.
You can garnish the dish with coriander leaves.

UP Boards Topper Prachi Nigam was trolled on social media for her facial hair; our obsession with appearance is harsh on young minds.
Prachi Nigam’s photo has been doing the rounds on social media for the right reasons. Well, scratch that- I wish the above statement were true. This 15-year-old girl should ideally be revelling in her spectacular achievement of scoring a whopping 98.05% and topping her tenth-grade boards. But oddly enough, along with her marks, it’s something else that garners more attention – her facial hair.
While the trolls are driving themselves giddy by mocking this girl who hasn’t even completed her school yet, the ones who are taking her side are going one step ahead – they are sharing her photoshopped pictures, sans the facial hair, looking nothing less than a celebrity with captions saying – “Prachi Nigam, ten years later”.
Doctors have already diagnosed her with PCOD in their comments, based on photographic evidence. While we have names for people shamed for their weight – body shaming, for their skin colour- racism, for their age- age shaming, for being a female- sexism, this category of shaming where one faces criticism for their appearance has no name. With that, it also has zero shame attached to it.
