To My Beloved [Poem]

With the Navaratris / Pujo starting today, don't we at least owe a look at how WOMAN, who is worshipped in these days, is really treated?

With the Navaratris / Pujo starting today, don’t we at least owe a look at how WOMAN, who is worshipped in these days, is really treated?

Equated with Earth,
analogized with nature
desecreted with hands
that worship her in the temples
Muse of artists, song of poets
cause of universe
enslaved in brothels
Indomitable energy
trapped in a bottle
The slayer of demons
ensnared by hypocrisy
Mother of Gods
forsaken in her prayers
Much espoused, more often forgotten
bonded, eulogized, sanctified
hunted, exploited and frightened.
Tell me the day
(if there’s a day?)
you’re finally safe
my cheated, beauteous woman.
