Nandini Hirianniah co-founded Madhouse Media, India’s first online/offline movie rentals company in 2004. Madhouse was acquired by Seventymm in 2007 and after working with the new entity for a year, Nandini moved on to create a start-up incubation and mentoring firm, The Morpheus with her co-founder at Madhouse, Sameer Guglani, and Indus Khaitan.

Here, Nandini talks about start-ups in India, the opportunities open to them and the causes of failure. She also discusses Morpheus’ work with start-ups, especially with helping them survive early stage troubles.

An Aptitude For Writing

Dr. Nishi of Chillibreeze, who manages one of the largest writers’ networks in India, offers insight into this challenging field.

Chillibreeze is a firm that’s made a name for itself in the highly competitive content writing and editing market in a relatively short time; it was only in 2004 that Ralph Budelman, the CEO and chief founder, came up with the idea.

Dr. Roopa Nishi Viswanathan, a medical doctor, joined Chillibreeze in 2004, writing content and managing customer projects. Today, she is a Director with Chillibreeze, oversees business development, writers’ services and is responsible for the overall content and marketing strategy.

In this interview, Dr. Nishi discusses with Women’s Web her unconventional but exciting career path as well as the opportunities and challenges in the content writing field.

Woman Of Many Parts

A talk with Sujatha V.Hari on her free-wheeling career and current avatar as an Entrepreneur in the Security & Investigation services industry.

Sujatha is a woman who’s been there, done that. Worked in administrative roles, followed it up with a stint in financial services, put herself through an MBA, run her own advertising agency and finally partnered her husband, Haridass Menon in running Vigil Security Bureau, a Security and investigation Services firm.

Based out of Chennai, Sujatha was at Vigil’s Bangalore office for a few days, where I caught up with her for an interesting chat on the many things she’s done and on being a woman in the growing, but still male-dominated security industry. (This interview was originally conducted in November 2009)
