My Lost Battle

Posted: November 13, 2017

#Poetry. According to the author of this short poem, this has been inspired by the unresolved Aarushi murder case. Heartrending.

That dark night, had I known
There would not be another dawn
I would have laughed a little longer
And danced a lot harder.

That dark night, had I known
I would lose all my own
I would have loved them a little more
And hugged them a lot tighter.

That dark night, had I known
How bad this world could turn?
I would have hidden a little better
And made my guards a lot taller.

That dark night, had I known
Justice evades the silent one
I would have lived a little longer
And shouted my truth a lot louder.

Author’s note: A short poem inspired by the unresolved Aarushi murder case.
