In today’s fast paced world, how many of us really find the time to keep in touch with our mothers? A tongue-in-cheek look at how you can do this.
We live in a fast-paced, technologically-driven and extremely busy world. Many of us spend the entire day behind the screens of our iPads, iPods, laptops and computers that all have one thing in common – the Internet. With the Internet being prominent in everybody’s lives, and with social media having taken over every means of communication, how is today’s generation to pay attention to their mothers?
Keeping in touch with your mother depends on where you live, if you live in a different country or city, the answer is simple – with technology. Making a simple phone call once or twice a week would make anyone’s mother incredibly happy. And nowadays, most mothers are up-to-date with all of the latest additions that technology has to offer.
Be it Viber or Skype, most mothers have the application on their phones, making it easier to stay in touch with. Even text messaging or Whatsapp messaging would suffice when a phone call is not possible.
Albeit having social media as a constant distraction, living in the same country as your mother makes all the difference in the world. Living in the same house as your mother is even more beneficial.
There should be a self-made rule to keep your phone away for at least some time when you are at home with your mother. You should devote all your attention towards her – even if it is for an hour.
Living in different houses simply means ensuring you go and see your mother at least once a week. All it takes is a Sunday morning or Saturday afternoon. And even a simple phone call in the day is a small effort but would make a large difference with paying attention to your mother.
Keeping in touch is always something that most people find to be a difficult chore. But with technology, this problem can be solved. With technology, you can set various reminders on your phone to call your mother to text her.
It is also important to keep in mind that if you can keep in touch with your friends and other people, it takes the same amount of effort to keep in touch with and pay more attention to your mother. With Mother’s Day fast approaching, be sure to wish her either by a phone call or a text message.
